Hoover's Slaughterhouse 5 Playlist

"Let It Be" - The Beatles
Fits the tralfamadorian point of view that everything will always be as it has always been, that we cannot change it and we just have to let it be.

"Iron" -Woodkid
The beginning of this song has that feeling that something is about to happen, and the drum beat makes me want to put it in while they're waiting under dresden for the air raid.

"Obladi Oblada" - The Beatles
Sort of fits the whole book, although the song is a bit more upbeat, the general theme of the song is that no matter what happens, life will always go on, and everything will keep on ticking.

Prelude from The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) - Bernard Hermann
I saw this film when I was very young, and this music is the music that I always hear when I think of aliens.
(no lyrics)

"Piano Sonata No. 2" (funeral march) - Chopin
At the time that the Americans enter the POW camp, it seems like the Russians are on their death beds, and I see this song as playing while a camera scrolls over the Russians beyond the fence.
(no lyrics)

"Hail, Hail, The Gang's All Here" - ???
I cannot think of a better song to show how I think of the English officers. Unlike the film, I see these men bursting out of the doors in sort of a disjointed mob, as if they were the pirates, perhaps holding up their hands as if they were swinging steins of beer, and singing as if there was not a war or anything bad going on in the world.

"Bullet in My Hand" - Red Light King
Billy survives events that he should not have lived through, and it seems as though he has sort have been given a second chance to do something with his life. ex. The bombing of Dresden, and When the plane crashes
